Your Impact

To manage the reliable operation of the processing operation through the preparation and implementation of optimised mining operational plans, ensuring safety, productivity, and an inclusive workforce.

Responsibilities

- Lead the operation in safety. Clearly demonstrate and execute safety leadership that prioritizes employee safety and creates a culture of safety within the operation. Conduct regular safety audits, ensure compliance with industry standards, and address any safety issues.
- Align the strategic vision of the site into actionable processing operational plans that deliver safe, socially responsible, and optimised production. Ensure clarity of the plan, integration with mining and technical services, and understand value drivers and trade‑off decisions based on operational and business context, product sales, metals accounting, and the impact on processing operations.
- Lead processing operations according to the operational plan, prioritising safety, cost, production, sustainability, and schedule. Identify and diagnose operational, technical, and safety challenges, initiate plans to manage them, conduct risk assessments, develop management systems, and verify completion of actions. Appropriately manage resources—human, funding, and equipment—against the plan.
- Identify and develop plans for continuous improvement and optimisation. Responsible for optimum performance in processing—actively seek to ensure opportunities for meaningful improvement are implemented and best practices put in place, applying new technologies and standard methodologies to enhance efficiency and delivery.
- Manage sustainable tailings deposit – (to be added).
- Lead a team of operators, technicians,



and supervisors to achieve production goals in processing. Articulate, role‑model, and drive a culture of health and safety across all areas of processing operations. Act as a leader, coach, and mentor in technical, safety, people leadership, and expected behaviours. Build current and future capability through training, talent management, and development pathways.
- Interface with other department heads and functions to ensure appropriate support and service is delivered to processing. Collaborate with support and service teams to achieve overall site objectives, understanding context, value levers, and best trade‑off decisions within the context.
- Monitor all key performance indicators, including safety, community, environment, production, and operational costs, reporting on all key metrics, risks, and corrective measures. Manage the overall operational budget. Investigate reports and data in mining to diagnose trends and take action where appropriate.
- Form part of the site leadership team, actively contributing to overall site leadership, culture, and delivery, with focus and responsibility for the mining portfolio, production, safety, and teams.
- Oversee water operations, including collection, treatment, and discharge of contact water, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Processing discipline, Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Mining, Water Resources, or related field).
- Experience in processing operations, with a progression through roles of increasing responsibility.
- A master’s degree in Environmental Management, metallurgy, Water Resources, or Business Administration is an asset.




- Fluent English required; additional languages are an advantage.

Experience & Technical Knowledge

- Strong knowledge of water management systems, including collection, storage, pumping, treatment, distribution, and discharge.
- Experience with water treatment processes and continuous optimisation of treatment plant performance.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and water compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with water balance management, surface and groundwater systems, and contact water management.
- Experience with maintenance planning and asset management systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar.
- Knowledge of water modelling and process simulation tools is desirable.

Leadership & Competencies

- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate teams.
- Experience leading cross‑functional projects and collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, and Engineering teams.
- Experience managing contractors and outsourced service providers.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in remote industrial or mining environments.

Your Work Environment

The position will require travel to appropriate locations (mostly Cajamarca site and Lima) to support the operation.

The position will require periodic living in the Yanacocha camp.

The person must be in good health and physical condition to work in the field in various climatic conditions and at altitudes of up to 4,000 metres above sea level.

The incumbent may be required to travel and assist other sites nationally and internationally.
