**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced **HR & Payroll Specialist** to support our fast-growing, multi-state consulting organization. This person will manage end-to-end payroll processing, oversee onboarding and benefits administration, and provide day-to-day support on payroll and HR-related matters.

You will work closely with our **SVP of Finance**, who will review and approve payroll runs, but you must be able to execute accurate, timely work with mínimal supervision.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Payroll & HR Support**
- Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 45 U.S.based employees.
- Ensure accuracy of earnings, deductions, benefits, reimbursements, and commissions.
- Maintain multi-state compliance (registrations, withholding updates, SUI, reciprocity rules, etc.).
- Coordinate payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation updates.
- Prepare and deliver clean Payroll Journal Entries after each payroll cycle.
- Support year-end payroll activities (W-2s, reconciliations, and reporting).
- Coordinate new hire onboarding: documentation, I-9 completion, account setup, and system access.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, life-event changes, terminations, and employee questions.
- Liaise with benefits vendors and brokers as needed.




- Maintain accurate HR and employee records according to U.S. standards.
- Respond to ad-hoc payroll inquiries and investigate discrepancies.
- Support HR/Finance leadership with reports, audits, and compliance checks.
- Recommend process improvements to streamline payroll and HR workflows.

**Required Qualifications**
- 5+ years of U.S. payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, wage & hour laws, and benefit deductions.
- Experience preparing payroll journal entries and working with accounting teams.
- Hands-on experience with onboarding and benefits administration.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information.
