Job Description - Revenue Collection Manager, Data & Analytics (210000SK)



Purpose of the role



RoomIt Revenue Collection team is looking for a Manager Data & Analytics with analytical rigor and strategic thinking to support effective revenue collection and identify optimization opportunities. The Manager Data & Analytics will be responsible for delivering reporting and providing data insights to guide decisions, he/she will audit processes through data analysis, monitor collection performance, identify gaps and provide actionable data for improvements. He/she will also lead data reconciliation to ensure contractual payments terms are met and support ad-hoc data projects for revenue collection.



Main responsibilities

Deliver,

improve and maintain reporting and dashboards to monitor and effectively communicate revenue collection performance

Analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and high volume of transactions to provide insights to RoomIt Revenue Collection team

Provide early warning on revenue collection gaps and implement prompt actions to support resolution

Provide ad-hoc hotel data extractions and reporting for collection activities (aged debt for e.g.)

Partner with Global Supplier Management team to ensure timely supplier payments

Manage IATA listing updates and communication to vendors and hotels

Monitor CWT countries and vendor data feeds to ensure compliance to defined process

Work closely with finance teams to align business performance and financial reporting

Support requests for client audits

Support data reconciliation project to identify payment gaps through the audit of supplier payment data vs RoomIt booking data

Support and monitors initiatives implementation and performance tracking (Non-Commissionable dispute, Unconfirmed bookings, new supplier agreements)

Acquire a deep understanding of hotel revenue data and data flows through various systems and environments

Create and/or maintain up to date documentation on reporting process, revenue collection specifics (exclusions, collection models, transactions tagging) and steps of data analysis

Participate in ad hoc projects and requests as needed to drive revenue collection performance

Qualifications



Experience & education:

Experience

5-7 years experience in Data Reporting & Analytics

Preferred experience within the corporate travel, OTA, hospitality, GDS sector an asset

Experience of delivering against personal targets and KPI’s

Ability to proactively drive the assigned projects and reach the preset objectives

Experience operating in a fast pace, rapid change environment where matrix reporting and reliance on others is the norm to get things done

Ability to interact with most levels of the organization

Ability to travel as required (5% time)

A Bachelor's degree on Finance, Economics, Statistics or Business School graduate is preferred or equivalent in work experience

Languages

Fluent English, both written and verbal

Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs)

Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access knowledge and expertise is mandatory. Candidate must be able to use custom macros and VBA to create interactive dashboards from an Excel platform and used advanced features including pivot tables, vlookup, complex formulas

Strong Impala SQL knowledge and expertise is mandatory including experience with big data, manipulating data and transforming the raw data into finished products.

Demonstrated working knowledge of the travel industry and related tools including GDS and/or other technology platforms is preferred

Basic Shiny RStudio knowledge is a plus

Understanding of Data Science techniques and technologies

Ability to translate complex information into simplified action-based messages that will assist in driving business decisions

Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, possess good judgment and mature decision-making skills

A global mind-set and ability to work effectively with people and teams from various cultures and cross functional

Will to test and learn and implement changes

Good time management and sense of prioritization
