Job Description

-In March 2018 Anglo American launched an ambitious new Sustainability Strategy which committed the company to working with partners towards a number of ambitious stretch goals. One of these goals relates to improving education outcomes in host communities with a target of supporting state schools in host communities to be in the top 20 percent of state schools in the countries in which they operate.



The purpose of this role is to drive achievement of the Sustainable Mining Plan stretch goal targets for Education in the region, focusing onPerú, Brazil and Chile.



What you will do:



o Reassess the current education programs and areas of support to align with the Sustainable Mining Plan targetsLead on baseline development and completion in collaboration with the local operations teams from Brazil and Peru



o Coordinate the completion of the baseline work and development of the Education program and setup with the local social performance teams in Brazil and Peru.



o Coordinate program delivery with selected service providers and local social performance teams, tracking and communicating on progress across the programs



o Tracking progress of Chile, Peru and Brazil Education and skills programs



o Coordinate communication pieces in collaboration with internal group and BU comms around the progress and outcomes of the education programs



o Work with other stakeholders and internal partners to explore integration of Health and Gender Based Violence through our education programs



o Support the operations team to prepare for program and budget approval



o Help develop reporting processes for LATAM programs



o Support and coordinate efforts on reporting between BUs and service providers, and into the LATAM steering committee





Qualifications

-What you will need to have:



o Bachelor`s degree in a relevant field



o Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese and English (mandatory)



o Experience working in partnerships with governments, academia or civil society organisations at a national or local level



o Whole School Development and/or Early Childhood Learning and the education sector in LATAM will be considered an advantage



o ICT solutions to drive education and skills development will be considered an advantage





Additional Information

-In order to assume this role you will need to:



o Have the right to work in either Brazil, Perú or Chile



o Have availability for traveling from 25% to 40% of time.
