About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Sanya / within the Wellness Department in Sanya, the Lifeguard is responsible for Pool Safety Operation Lifeguard reports to the Pool supervisor.
As Lifeguard you will beresponsiblefor the following duties:
The Lifeguard is responsible for, but not limited to, the overall spa and wellness staff tidiness and appearance.
To create a safe environment for guests.
Act as a Professional Rescuer in the event of an emergency.
Monitor and maintain the chemical levels in the pool and landscape pools.
To clean the pool and landscape pool outside of operating hours.
Always keep work area clean and neat




Must follow all Standards and Procedures as taught by legendary trainers, pool supervisor or Recreation Assistant Manager
To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Wellness department
Assist in the operations of all wellness departments as required:
Wellness reception desk.
Relaxation Area
Heat Experience Area
Locker Room Areas
Fitness Center/Pool
Report on dysfunctional equipment to Spa Director
To maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the spa
To attend daily line-ups, weekly and monthly spa meetings
Will be expected to assist various demonstrations and events
To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as lay down by the Spa Director
Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary, and must adhere to training as set down by the Spa Director
Must have the ability to courteously interact and answer all spa and hotel related questions with guests
Assist in all areas of the wellness as and when necessary
To be adaptable and accountable for all actions
Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position, or assigned by the Spa Director
Will be responsible for the maintaining the cleanliness of the entire Wellness in particular the changing rooms, toilets, showers, relaxation areas, fitness center and Treatment suites.
These should be kept in a neat, tidy and sanitary manner in accordance with the Standards and Procedure and Health and Safety Standards
Will have attention to detail and be able to arrange spa items in a decorative manner
To assist in the smooth flow of the guests journey throughout the day




Will be expected to aid therapists in setting up for treatments and clearing away after
Will be expected to ensure lockers are stocked with clean linen at all times and remove soiled linen
To receive training to ensure that all-relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at work Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the wellness.
Courtesy to guests and other members of staff always
Will greet each guest with a smile and acknowledge guest even in passing
Will proactively aid all spa guests when necessary
Will pass along pertinent information at the end of shift
Lifeguard weexpectfrom you:
Must have a yearly CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification including Defibrillation Training
Must have current Lifeguard Certification
Demonstrates competence in the skills and technical knowledge to the level appropriate for the job role.
Demonstrate a strong passion for guest service with a warm and professional attitude.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and facility presentation.
Ensure a safe environment and respond calmly and effectively in emergencies.
Exhibit a well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor at all times.
