We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Product team at Inszone Insurance Services. This is a mid-to-senior level role for someone with 4+ years of hands-on experience in product management who has already owned a digital product end to end and is ready to take full ownership of several initiatives at the same time in a fast-paced, agile environment within the insurance industry.
The Product Owner will work across multiple concurrent projects and will be the owner of the product being built in each one of them. This is not a coordination role: we expect you to understand, at a business level, why each product is being built, what problem it solves, and what value it must generate — and to use that understanding to make and defend product decisions. At the same time, you will be in constant communication with the Software Architect, Tech Leads, and developers, so you need to be fluent in technical concepts (APIs, databases, integrations, system architecture) and able to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders — and business context to the technical team.
The Product Owner serves as the voice of the user and the business, working closely with stakeholders, the Software Architect, Tech Leads, and the Design team to define, document, and prioritize product requirements from Discovery through delivery and post-release measurement.
Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English are required, as you will interact with stakeholders across the organization. This position is based in Peru and follows a hybrid work arrangement.
- Location: Peru (candidates must be based in Lima, Peru).
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with one day per week working from the office.
- Employment: On payroll through Staff Boom,
which supports local HR, payroll, and benefits administration for Inszone Insurance Services.
- Working Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Peru time, aligned with the U.S. business schedule.
- Holiday Schedule: Employees work on Peruvian holidays and observe U.S. holidays instead.
- Language Requirement: Bilingual English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Product Ownership : Act as the single owner of the product in each project assigned to you — typically several in parallel — being accountable for its scope, priorities, decisions, and outcomes from Discovery through delivery and adoption.
- Business Understanding & Value : Build a deep understanding of the business process, users, and goals behind each initiative. Articulate the problem, the expected value, and the success criteria before anything is built, and use that context to make and defend prioritization and scope decisions.
- Product Vision & Roadmap : Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for your initiatives, ensuring the development team understands the strategic direction and the value behind each initiative.
- Voice of the User :
Represent the needs of end users and business stakeholders in every stage of the product lifecycle — translating real problems into actionable product solutions.
- Discovery & Requirements : Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders to understand problems, map current and future state processes (AS-IS / TO-BE), identify actors, and gather functional and non-functional requirements.
- Process Modeling : Diagram business processes using BPMN notation or similar approaches with tools such as Draw.io, Visio, or equivalent.
- Technical & Business Translation : Act as the bridge between business and engineering: understand technical proposals, constraints, and trade-offs (APIs, data models, integrations, architecture) well enough to challenge them, and explain them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Solution Design Coordination : Collaborate with the Software Architect, Tech Leads, and Design team to define product solutions, evaluate alternatives, and identify technical and external dependencies, risks, and their impact on scope and timeline.
- User Stories & Acceptance Criteria : Write clear User Stories (As a / I want / So that) and Acceptance Criteria in Gherkin format (Given / When / Then) that meet the team's Definition of Ready.
- Work Acceptance : Review and accept or reject completed work from the development team, validating that delivered features meet the defined acceptance criteria before release.
- Success Metrics : Define success criteria and key metrics for each feature or initiative, and track adoption and outcomes post-release to inform future prioritization decisions.
- Backlog Management : Own and maintain the product backlog — grooming, prioritizing, and keeping items ready for development using established prioritization fram
