Job Title:

Out-Patient Pharmacy Assistant

Under direct supervision, the Out-Patient Pharmacy Assistant fills routine dosage orders and prepackaged pharmaceuticals. The role involves counting, packaging, and labeling unit doses, as well as performing a variety of clerical or administrative functions for the department.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assists the pharmacist in unit dose preparation and prepackaging of medications.
- Performs a range of clerical and/or administrative tasks for the pharmacy as required.
- Performs routine bookkeeping functions.
- Uses personal computer for word processing and/or budget monitoring responsibilities.
- May lead or guide others in department administrative procedures.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety).
- Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
- Provides or promotes people centered care.
- Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.

Experience Required:

2+ years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Education Qualifications:

Diploma in Pharmacy / Bachelor in Pharmacy.

Skills Required:





- Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.

Languages:

High proficiency in Arabic and English Languages.
