Inszone Insurance Services is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team in Peru.

In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain the data pipelines and infrastructure that support our reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives. You will work closely with our Data Architect and engineering team to improve platform reliability, integrate new data sources, and ensure data quality across our systems.

This is a hands-on technical role with opportunities to contribute to architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and help shape our data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data extraction, transformation, and orchestration pipelines.
- Manage and improve data pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and foundational Gold layers within our medallion architecture.
- Build and maintain integrations with multiple data sources.
- Develop and optimize data transformations using Python, SQL, and dbt.
- Implement and maintain data quality checks, testing, and monitoring.
- Improve pipeline reliability, performance, and resource efficiency.
- Support CI/CD processes and development workflow automation.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable data solutions.
- Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical improvements.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

- 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.




- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining production data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, Prefect, or similar.
- Experience with dbt or equivalent SQL transformation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, incremental loading, and data quality.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and containerized environments.
- Familiarity with modern data storage formats such as Parquet, Apache Iceberg, or Delta Lake.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is required. Candidates must be comfortable communicating with U.S.-based teams in English.

Nice to Have

- Experience with Dagster and dlt (dlthub).
- Experience with Trino or Presto.
- Experience with Apache Iceberg and Apache Ranger.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or OKD.
- Experience with GitOps tools such as Tekton or ArgoCD.
- Experience mentoring other data engineers.

Work Arrangement & Employment Details

This position supports Inszone Insurance Services, a U.S.-based insurance brokerage, with employment administered locally in Peru through Staff Boom, our staffing and payroll partner.

- Employment: Full-time position on local payroll through Staff Boom. This is not an independent contractor role.
- Hybrid Schedule: Candidates must be based in Lima, Peru, and available to work from the office one day per week.
- Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Peru time.
- Holiday Schedule: This position follows the U.S. holiday calendar. Employees are expected to work on Peruvian holidays and will observe U.S. holidays instead, subject to applicable local employment requirements.
- Collaboration: The role involves regular communication and collaboration with U.S.-based teams, making strong English communication skills essential.
