Southport Sharks offers a diverse range of food and beverage outlets, ranging from a 7-day Buffet which offers a wide assortment of international cuisines that spoils the taste buds with mouth-watering delights whilst also offering an indulging A La Carte menu. A venue that invites you to bring your culinary spin of passion to the team!
To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following:
- Qualified with a minimum Cert IV in Commercial Cookery
- Food Safety Hygiene qualification
Key Responsibilities Include
- Working in a busy venue with a highly skilled team
- Keeping a sharp attention to detail
- Ensure that food standards, preparation,
presentation and cooking techniques are carried out according to established recipes and standards.
- Utilise your creative expertise in cookery to produce high quality meals for customers.
- Assist in the training of other chefs/apprentices/trainees to encourage excellent quality and production of menu items.
- Monitor food quality and ensure policies and hygiene standards are maintained, reporting any deviations to the Head Chef
- Promote safe work practices in the kitchen
- Liaise with Sous Chef, Chef D'Partie, Executive Chef regarding workflow requirements .
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Experience in a multi-faceted kitchen
- Familiarity with the Food Safety Act
- Time Management skills is a must
- Ability to work well under pressure
