Project Overview:

Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's control systems aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. Your recommendations will help to solve technical issues and ensure requirements of a project's control systems aspects are met.

Major Responsibilities:

- Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard Control Systems engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment to make adaptations and modifications.

- Participating in the design, development, and modification of systems and processes using Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, guides,



and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).

- Coordinating and collaborating with engineering disciplines, specialty groups, clients, vendors, contractors, construction teams, and other functional groups.

- Preparing conceptual studies, designs, reports, and proposals.

- Providing technical support to Control Systems personnel, project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies in resolving complex technical, regulatory, and industry code issues.

- Supporting project and construction management in identifying, implementing, and complying with Control Systems requirements throughout project execution.

- Reviewing Process-developed P&IDs;, vendor drawings, and engineering documentation.

- Defining instrumentation requirements in coordination with Process and Mechanical disciplines, including specifications, data sheets, and material requisitions for instruments and control valves.

- Preparing, reviewing, and verifying calculations, design models, drawings, design documents, and discipline quantity estimates.

- Responding to design-related inquiries from clients and construction teams within the assigned scope of work.

- Compiling, maintaining, and controlling engineering records, work documents, and supporting design information.

- Participating in and promoting a work environment based on transparency, trust, communication, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Deep knowledge in Control Systems and Communications architecture design related to Mining and Metals industry.

- Deep knowledge in CCTVs Systems and architecture design related to Mining and Metals industry.

- Deep knowledge in OT (Operational Technology) and IT (Information Technology)



networks and Cyber Security applied to Mining and Metals industry.

- Knowledge of Ethernet Network design.

- Expertise with instrumentation selection for Mining and Metals applications.

- Expertise with design related to fieldbuses such as Profibus-DP, Foundation Fieldbus.

- Expertise with communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet.

- Clear communication skills and collaborative attitude.

- Accountable and problem solver.

- Knowledge, user level, of Smart Instrumentation

- Knowledge, user level, Microsoft Office.

- Database experience is desirable

- English level Intermediate
