The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced seniorassociate or special counsel to join our general insurance team ona full-time basis, uniquely working across both of our Insuranceand Government divisions.

This role will provide the opportunity to work across a diverserange of legally challenging matters focussing on a variety ofgeneral liability matters, including personal injury, construction,property damage, and the potential for other specialty areas(defamation, coronial inquests etc).

The work is high quality working for one of the leadinginsurance and government partners in NSW with clients based bothdomestically (Government and private sector insurers) andinternationally.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Oversee and manage a diverse caseload of general liabilityclaims, ensuring exceptional client representation andsuccessful outcomes. There will be a focus on significantmatters including large catastrophic losses.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to juniorlawyers, assisting in their professional growth anddevelopment.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and courtproceedings with expertise and confidence.
- Offer ongoing legal advice and support to clientsthroughout the entire litigation process.





The successful candidate will be experienced in and enjoyworking autonomously on matters while supervising and mentoringjunior lawyers. Skills and Experience To be successful in this role you will have:

- A Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and a current New SouthWales practising certificate.
- Minimum 5 years' post admission and experience in liabilityor professional indemnity, with experience in insurance policyadvice and coverage disputes.
- Strong command of Australian tort law, civil procedure, andrelevant legislation.
- Proven ability to effectively mentor and supervise juniorlawyers, fostering their growth and success.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solvingskills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A commercial approach and ability to articulate andnegotiate effectively.
