About this Role
responsAbility is seeking an Investment Analyst to support the origination, due diligence, execution, and portfolio management of debt investments across the sustainable food and agriculture sector in Latin America. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the city of Lima within a multicultural growth environment where personal initiative and contribution are highly valued.
The Investment Analyst will play a crucial role in the investment lifecycle, from initial market assessment through ongoing portfolio monitoring. This role requires a combination of financial acumen, sector expertise, and a genuine commitment to sustainable finance and impact investing. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across multiple teams and engage directly with clients, portfolio companies, and investment committee members.
Responsibilities
- Support due diligence processes and conduct credit risk assessments
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare investment recommendations
- Perform market, sector, and commodity research related to sustainable food and agriculture in Latin America
- Review financial statements, cash flow projections, and business plans
- Prepare investment committee materials, monitoring reports, and portfolio reviews
- Assist with ESG and impact assessments
- Monitor portfolio companies and support ongoing client engagement
- Participate in client meetings, due diligence calls, and site visits when required
- Collaborate with internal teams including legal, risk, ESG, and operations functions throughout the investment lifecycle
- Stay informed about market developments, emerging trends, and risks affecting the food and agriculture sectors in Latin America
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics,
or related fields
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, credit analysis, private debt, banking, consulting, transaction advisory, agribusiness finance, or related fields
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, financial modeling, corporate finance, debt transactions, and legal/documentation processes related to financing and due diligence
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and AI-powered productivity tools
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines
- Proactive, self-driven, and team-oriented mindset
- Advanced (fluent) written and spoken English is mandatory
- Experience with ESG, impact investing, sustainable finance, food systems, agriculture, or emerging markets is highly desirable
- Portuguese language skills would be considered a strong asset
- Strong interest in sustainable finance, agriculture, food value chains, and impact investing
- Postgraduate studies or specialized training in sustainable food systems, sustainable agriculture, agribusiness, food value chains, ESG, or impact investing will be considered a strong advantage
