About this Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to join BlueOrchard’s fast-growing regional investment team in Lima, Peru as a Senior Investment Officer Analytics within the Private Debt Team.



As a member of the regional investment team, you will perform and lead the planning and undertaking of on-site due diligence and prepare full investment proposals to assess the feasibility and completion of debt investment opportunities, primarily focusing on Financial Institutions across Latin America. You will be responsible for proposing and presenting investment opportunities to the Credit Committee, ensuring they meet the risk appetite and social return objectives of BlueOrchard’s managed Funds for the Latin American region. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting positive impact in emerging and frontier markets while leveraging your expertise in financial analysis and credit assessment.

Responsibilities

- Propose and present investment opportunities to the Credit Committee, meeting the risk appetite and social return of BlueOrchard’s managed Funds for the Latam region
- Perform desk review and on-site financial analysis, social impact, and ESG assessment of existing and potential Investees, primarily Financial Institutions
- Plan, prepare and conduct due diligence visits, perform country and credit risk analysis
- Mentor, support and work with the local team of investment officers
- Contribute to the development of investment and credit analysis processes and tools of the Company

Requirements

- More than 8 years of relevant experience assessing Financial Institutions




- Experience working in a credit rating agency, the banking industry, or in deposit and non-deposit taking financial entities catering to SMEs and micro entrepreneurs with loans and tailor-made products such as leasing and factoring
- Ideally at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the Latin American region
- Experience in performing financial due diligences and/or risk assessments on financial institutions
- Experience with assessing debt investments and conducting detailed credit analysis
- Experience with assessing social impact and ESG assessments
- Excellent problem solving and presentation skills required to effectively manage internal and external communication
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish, with additional language skills practiced in the region being a plus
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or related field
- Willingness to live and work in Lima, Peru and to undertake regular travels in the region
- Flexible, highly analytical, self-starter with ambition to excel, detail oriented and developed commercial acumen
- High work ethic, capable of multitasking and producing high quality output within set deadlines
- Demonstrated team player with the ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
- High degree of responsibility and accountability
