Backend Engineer – Mid-Level to Senior

We are looking for a Mid-Level to Senior Backend Engineer to join a development team working on a microservices architecture in a polyglot environment for a U.S.-based client.

This is not an entry-level or junior position. We are specifically looking for engineers who already have solid professional backend experience and are comfortable taking ownership of their work with limited supervision.

We prioritize strong programming fundamentals, technical judgment, and adaptability over expertise in a specific programming language. You should be comfortable working across different backend technologies, understanding unfamiliar codebases, and adapting to different programming paradigms.

You will participate in daily meetings with a U.S.-based client in English and contribute to the design, development, testing, maintenance, and improvement of backend services.

AI-assisted development is part of our daily workflow. We expect engineers to use AI tools productively while maintaining full understanding, technical ownership,



and accountability for the code they deliver.

Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience in Backend or Full-Stack Development, with a strong focus on backend systems.
- Proven experience working independently on production-level applications and backend services.
- Advanced conversational English for daily communication with U.S.-based clients and technical teams.
- Strong programming fundamentals, including data structures, interfaces, methods, composition, error handling, references, and different programming paradigms.
- Ability to quickly read, understand, debug, and modify unfamiliar codebases without depending on a specific language or framework.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, including table relationships, JOIN queries, indexes, query optimization, and basic use of EXPLAIN ANALYZE.
- Solid experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs, including versioning, status codes, error handling,
