Postdoc in Neural Circuits of Sensorimotor Control

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for a project investigating the neural circuit mechanisms underlying sensorimotor control and adaptive behaviour. The research will take place at the Department of Neuroscience, University of Copenhagen, in the Bellardita Laboratory, as part of a research program supported by a Lundbeck Foundation Ascending Investigator Grant.

Our research

The Bellardita Laboratory studies how neural circuits generate, monitor and adapt movement. Our work focuses on understanding how neural activity across the nervous system is transformed into coordinated behaviour and how sensory information contributes to the control and modification of movement. We combine experimental systems neuroscience with advanced behavioural analysis and computational approaches.

Our experimental approaches include in vivo neural recording and imaging, optogenetic and genetic manipulation of neural circuits, quantitative analysis of movement and behaviour,



and computational analysis of large neural and behavioural data sets.

A major goal of the laboratory is to understand the principles through which neural circuits integrate internal motor signals and sensory information to support adaptable behaviour. We investigate these questions across different forms of movement and levels of the nervous system.

The laboratory is part of the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Copenhagen and is embedded within a strong research environment in neural circuits, motor control, sensory systems and systems neuroscience. We collaborate with research groups in Denmark and internationally and aim to provide a supportive environment in which postdoctoral researchers can develop both technically and scientifically.
