Organizational context: The UN Resident Coordination Office (RCO) in Lima, Peru, operates under the UN's integral reform to effectively achieve the 2030 Agenda and SDGs. Empowered by the UN Resident Coordinator, RCOs support countries in their development priorities. This role, situated within the RCO, collaborates with the SDG Policy and Financing Section and the Regional Policy Analyst to ensure alignment with UN 2.0 priorities.
Job purpose: The Economist provides substantive economic analysis and evidence-based advice on sustainable development, economic transformation, and SDG financing to support the UN Resident Coordinator (RC) and UN Country Team (UNCT) in Peru. This involves researching and analyzing economic data, identifying challenges and opportunities for SDG acceleration, and supporting the implementation of global guidelines. The role contributes to integrated UN policy support, promotes inclusive economic development, and prepares knowledge products on macroeconomic trends and SDG financing. Additionally,



the Economist supports partnerships with national counterparts and stakeholders, contributes to the UN sustainable development programming cycle, and facilitates knowledge management and learning on economic transformation and SDG financing, aligning with UN 2.0 capabilities.
Responsibilities: The Economist is responsible for providing substantive economic analysis and evidence-based advice on sustainable development, economic transformation, and SDG financing.
