The Partnerships Officer role is situated within the UN RCO in Lima, Peru, reporting to the Head of the Office.

Job purpose: The Partnerships Officer provides crucial advice and support to the Resident Coordinator (RC) and the UN Country Team (UNCT) to foster strategic partnerships for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This involves developing and implementing a UN Partnership Strategy aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, engaging diverse stakeholders including civil society and the private sector, and identifying opportunities and risks. The role also supports resource mobilization initiatives, manages pooled funds, and collaborates with economists and experts to promote financing for development. Furthermore, the position contributes to knowledge management and capacity development within the UN system regarding partnerships and resource mobilization, ensuring effective data analysis and reporting to support decision-making and SDG acceleration.

Responsibilities: The Partnerships Officer is responsible for providing substantive support for strategic planning and coordination of UNCT partnerships with civil society, the private sector, and other entities to achieve SDGs. This includes developing and implementing the UN Partnership Strategy, convening working groups, and liaising with UN entities globally. The role serves as a key contact for external stakeholders, builds interfaces with development partners,



and supports due diligence processes. Additionally, the officer participates in joint partnership and resource mobilization initiatives, supports the management of pooled funds for the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, and analyzes funding streams. Collaboration with the RCO Economist and other experts is essential to promote partnerships for SDG financing, including preparing briefing papers and contributing to dialogues. The position also contributes to knowledge management by promoting collaboration, researching best practices, and maintaining a repository of potential donors, while also performing data analysis and reporting.

Education: An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Business/Public Administration, Sustainable Development, Social Sciences, or Education is required. A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience is acceptable. A degree or program in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or Data Science is advantageous.

Work experience: A minimum of five years of progressive experience in strategic partnership support, project/programme management, and resource mobilization within development cooperation is required. Experience in developing partnerships across government, private sector, and civil society, designing and implementing partnerships, and preparing project proposals is essential. Experience in resource mobilization strategies, UN interagency coordination, financing SDGs, promoting knowledge management, and data analytics is desirable.
