About the Role
As a Backend Software Engineer, you will join a team driving critical product initiatives while taking ownership of engineering improvements that enhance platform performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
You will work closely with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to build and maintain highly scalable backend services using modern cloud-native technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and distributed systems
- Build scalable applications using Java and/or Kotlin
- Design and optimize APIs using GraphQL
- Support compliance and engineering maintenance initiatives
- Implement cost optimization improvements
- Enhance observability and monitoring capabilities
- Develop internal operational tooling
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, and performance
- Collaborate effectively with general engineering teams
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional software development experience
- Strong backend engineering background
- Java and/or Kotlin
- Spring Boot
- MongoDB Atlas
- Aurora MySQL on AWS
- AWS cloud-native distributed systems
- GraphQL (Netflix DGS preferred)
- Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance, resilient systems
- Strong English communication skills

- Apache Kafka and/or AWS SQS
- Terraform
- Microservices architecture
- gRPC
- REST API development
