Geotechnical Engineer
We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Latin America team in Lima, Peru. What you will do as geotechnical engineer
As geotechnical engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of complex geotechnical and structural analysis projects. You will work alongside top-tier specialists on projects applying finite element modelling for soil-structure interaction simulations, including settlement analysis for heavy-load yards. You will help develop innovative design and modelling solutions using the latest simulation software and encourage repeat business from key accounts by delivering outstanding client value.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Designing deep foundations
- Modelling soil-structure interaction using finite elements
- Coordinating projects internally and with external suppliers or subcontractors
- Participating in master planning projects, large and small, within our portfolio of port industry clients around the world, including government agencies and commercial global terminal operators
- Planning small as well as large, complex projects across different phases and levels of detail, including continuous follow-up
- Performing client audits, surveys, and workshops
- Conducting desktop research, data analysis, and interpretation
- Contributing to the use of digital technology to improve processes and efficiencies
- Preparing high-quality reports, presentations, and workshops
- Developing the technical input for proposals and commercial offers
- Promoting the work of the team within the company and at industry events
- Carrying out other tasks as defined by the project's PM

You will work for the Advisory Group Water and Maritime Latin America. This team consists of around 50 staff, is based in Lima, Perú and works closely with the other offices (Netherlands, UK) and excels in a wide variety of services and skills in the fields of climate resilience and maritime developments. We provide our clients, both private and (semi) governmental, with a range of services throughout the various phases of a project: from inception, through master planning, feasibility, and design all the way to construction supervision.
We have a strong foothold in the Netherlands, but we operate worldwide.
What you bring The following requirements could make you eligible for the position available:
- Civil engineer with 10 years of experience in finite element modelling for soil-structure interaction simulations and settlement analysis for heavy-load yards.
- Knowledge of our maritime sector is desirable; otherwise, experience in the design of bridges, piles and/or deep foundations.
- Experience in project management and in dealing with clients and suppliers is required.
- Master’s degree (MSc), in geotechnical engineering
- Interest in working on master plans for port infrastructure and/or port planning projects
- Interest in and affinity with port operations and associated data analysis and interpretation
- Ability to collaborate in teams and with other disciplines
- Capable of undertaking assignments effectively to achieve technically sound, timely, and cost-effective results
- Advance English level
