Role Purpose The Project Management Support Associate (Environmental Technician) provides operational and technical support to the planning, coordination and delivery of project technical assistance activities. The role works under the guidance of senior project staff and contributes to effective planning and implementation by supporting coordination processes, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and ensuring that activities are carried out in line with the project’s results framework and internal procedures.

Functions / Key Results Expected

- Planning and Preparation
- Support project planning activities, including stakeholder mapping and coordination with environmental, forestry and justice sector institutions.
- Support senior technical managers and the Project Coordinator in liaising with stakeholders, identifying needs, and strengthening capacities related to the program
- Provide inputs for the development of project documents, agreements and revisions.
- Provide technical and analytical support to project planning processes, including compiling information for stakeholder mapping and technical assistance of relevant environmental, forestry and justice sector institutions.
- Assist project team in coordinating with stakeholders by preparing meeting materials, taking notes, and following up on agreed actions on forest and minerals crimes related technical assistance
- Support the preparation and updating of work plans, training activities and information analysis by compiling inputs, organizing data and tracking changes as requested.
- Maintain and update project tools, including progress tracking sheets and activity reports, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.




- Provide draft inputs and support documentation for project documents, knowledge products, and revisions under programme implementation
- Training and Implementation Support
- Provide logistical support for workshops, trainings and meetings, including stakeholder meetings, participant communication, and preparation of materials.
- Assist in the preparation and formatting of technical materials, presentations and background documents.
- Support coordination with government counterparts, experts and service providers by organizing communications, scheduling meetings and tracking deliverables. The incumbent supports stakeholder engagement processes by facilitating communication, developing reports and maintaining records of interactions, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Facilitate internal communication flows by maintaining contact databases and ensuring timely sharing of relevant information with stakeholders for project outputs.
- Monitoring, Reporting and Compliance
- Maintain tools for project activities, including progress indicators related to environmental crime technical assistance interventions.
- Support the collection and organization of data, reports and technical documentation.
- Contribute to drafting progress reports, meeting minutes and donor updates.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with UNOPS and UNODC rules, donor requirements, and project procedures.
- Operational and Logistical Support
- Coordinate procurement, travel,



transport and inventory management in support of project operations.
- Support HR-related project requirements (e.g. drafting terms of reference for positions, monitoring deliverables, recruitment activities, etc).
- Manage project files, shared drives, and document management systems to ensure real-time tracking and accessibility.
- Knowledge Building and Sharing
- Support knowledge management activities, including documenting lessons learned and best practices in environmental crime programming.
- Contribute to research and preparation of analysis and reports on environmental crime trends and related topics.
- Participate in programme knowledge-sharing initiatives and trainings.

Education Requirements

Required

- Secondary school (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferably in environmental engineering, sciences, natural resources with 2 years of relevant experience is required

Desired
- A globally recognized professional certificate or membership in Project Management or Environmental Management is desired.

Experience Requirements

- Relevant experience in operational and technical support to the planning, management and delivery of project technical assistance in environmental projects, natural resources management or related fields.
- Demonstrable proficiency in the use of collaboration and productivity tools (e.g. MS Office, G-Suite, etc) and web-based information management systems is required

Desired
- Experience of working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country is desired.
- Experience supporting training, workshops or capacity-building activities.
- Experience in the law enforcement and justice sector contexts is desired.
