? We’re Hiring: Associate Project ManagerSAP Business One | ERP & Software Implementations | Remote, Latin America.
About Fonseca Advisers
Fonseca Advisers is a technology consulting firm specializing in the implementation of SAP Business One and Boyum IT solutions — BEAS for manufacturing and Produmex WMS for logistics and warehousing — as well as in custom software development. We work with clients and business partners across Latin America, the United States, and Europe.
The Project Management area is responsible for ensuring that every service is delivered on time, within the agreed budget, and with the committed quality. Each Project Manager handles a portfolio of accounts — the area’s reference is 6 to 8 — whose services vary by role level: end-to-end implementations, post go-live services, hourly services, tickets, and similar. In front of the client, there is normally a single Project Manager per account.
Purpose of the role The Associate Project Manager leads end-to-end implementation projects for SAP Business One, Boyum IT solutions, and other software initiatives, and handles post go-live service accounts in parallel. The role is responsible for planning the work, coordinating the team, controlling the budget, and keeping the client informed throughout the project. Its objective is for every service to be delivered on time, within budget, and with the agreed quality.
Responsibilities
3.1 Client and business partner communication
- Serve as the main point of contact for each account with the client and business partners.
- Deliver regular progress reports that are clear and tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences, in Spanish and English.
- Report risks and issues in a timely manner, explaining their impact and proposing solution alternatives.
3.2 Planning and estimation
- Develop and maintain each project plan: scope, schedule, milestones, dependencies, and resource needs.
- Consolidate the effort and schedule estimates produced by consultants and developers, add the management time, and sustain the project’s overall estimate before the client.
- Continuously monitor progress and adjust the plan when circumstances require it.
3.3 Scope and change management
- Ensure compliance with the scope agreed with the client.
- Ensure that every change request is assessed, approved, and documented before execution, and that it is reflected in the plan and the budget.
3.4 Project team coordination
- Coordinate the work of functional consultants, technical consultants, and developers in a remote setting.
- Follow up on each team member’s commitments and deliveries, and remove obstacles that affect progress.
- Accompany Junior Project Managers in the preparation and account status sessions of the accounts they progressively take on.
- Ensure an orderly transfer of information and responsibilities whenever team members change.
3.5 Budget, time, and quality control
- Control each account’s budget and ensure its financial goals are met.
- Review and approve the team’s time records, verifying that they are accurate and complete.
- Verify the quality of deliverables and documentation before they are presented to the client.
3.6 Risk and issue management
- Identify risks early and follow them through to resolution.
- Resolve issues within the scope of project management, and escalate in a timely manner those beyond it, providing complete information and a proposed solution.
3.7 Documentation and closure
- Keep each account’s documentation complete, organized, and up to date: plans, agreements, decisions, risks, and minutes.
- Lead the formal closure of each project: verification of deliverables, lessons learned, and transition to the support team.
4. Candidate requirements 4.1 General experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Project Manager (2 years minimum).
- Experience coordinating remote teams.
4.2 Specific experience
- Experience managing SAP Business One, other ERP, or software implementation projects.
- Alternatively, experience as a Project Manager in the information technology sector.
4.3 Education and certifications
- Professional degree in engineering, business administration, technology, or related fields.
- Project management certifications (PMP®, PRINCE2®, or others) are valued but not required.
4.4 Languages — required
- Professional English, C1 level minimum, spoken and written. The role leads meetings and produces reports in English.
- Native or advanced Spanish.
4.5 Competencies
- Organization and time management to handle several accounts in parallel.
- Attention to detail and orientation toward high-quality documentation.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills for decision-making.
- Problem-solving ability: investigate, evaluate alternatives, and propose solutions.
- Clear and professional communication, verbal and written.
- Risk identification and management.
- Composure and sound judgment when requirements change or pressure rises.
- Ability to learn new work tools quickly, including artificial intelligence tools.
Role expectations — first months During the first six months, the selected candidate is expected to:
- Independently manage a portfolio of accounts — area reference: 6 to 8 — combining end-to-end implementations with post go-live services.
- Keep budget, progress, and time information accurate and up to date across all accounts.
- Sustain realistic overall estimates before the client, consolidated from the work of consultants and developers.
- Communicate risks and issues early, so that the client never receives surprises.
- Manage scope changes with the required approval and documentation before execution.
- Become the point of reference for their accounts among clients, business partners, and colleagues.
6. Working conditions
- Remote work. Candidates must reside in Central or Latin America.
- Full-time schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time (ET), 40 hours per week minimum.
- The work calendar follows United States public holidays.
7. What we offer
- 100% remote work in a team distributed across Latin America, the United States, and Europe.
- Mid-year and end-of-year performance bonuses, tied to project results and individual metrics.
- Defined career growth paths, with clear levels and promotion criteria, based on performance and contribution.
- An established methodology, modern management tools, and artificial intelligence integrated into daily work.
