Plans and executes shipment orders and related customs administrative activities in accordance with standard operating procedures and applicable import and export requirements. Coordinates customs entry processing, shipment documentation, notes management, and related transaction records to support accurate and timely clearance activities. Monitors daily workflow, department communications, and entry activity to support service, productivity, and compliance goals. Resolves routine shipment and clearance delays by reviewing issues, coordinating follow-up actions, and communicating status updates to relevant stakeholders. Performs customs operations checks and supports audit readiness, entry corrections, and documentation follow-up before required reporting deadlines. Maintains communication with brokers, customs contacts, regulatory bodies, and internal operational teams to support compliant and efficient shipment processing. Provides training, procedural guidance, and regulatory updates to support consistent application of customs requirements and operating standards.. Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, international trade, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in customs operations, import/export coordination,
transportation operations, logistics administration, customer service operations, or a related field required.
Certification in customs compliance, international trade, freight forwarding, or logistics operations preferred. Knowledge of international logistics operations across air, land, and cross-border shipment coordination, including shipment status control and service recovery. Knowledge of import/export documentation, customs procedures, trade compliance controls, and documentation accuracy requirements in execution-heavy environments.
Knowledge of dispatch and transportation coordination, including driver communication, delivery scheduling, routing support, and issue escalation. Knowledge of customer-facing logistics support, including shipment updates, order handling, complaint resolution, and service continuity. Knowledge of operational coordination across brokers, carriers, customs authorities, vendors, and internal operations teams.
Knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and logistics systems used for tracking, reporting, communication, and execution control. Coordinates end-to-end movement of international shipments and aligns dispatch, documentation, and customer communication to meet service commitments. Reviews shipment and customs documentation for completeness, accuracy, and readiness before execution or escalation.
Facilitates coordination with brokers, carriers, airlines, vendors, and authorities to resolve delays, clearance issues, and service disruptions. Monitors shipment milestones and proactively communicates status, risks, and recovery actions to customers and internal stakeholders. Troubleshoots operational exceptions involving missed pickups, incomplete paperwork, customs holds, delivery failures, and order discrepancies.
Uses Excel, Outlook, and operating systems to maintain accurate records, track workflows, and support operational decisions. Prioritizes competing shipment, customer, and dispatch needs in a fast-moving environment with strong administrative discipline.
Improves execution quality by identifying recurring issues, tightening handoffs, and reinforcing process consistency across stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple active shipments, customer requests, and operational deadlines without losing control of detail. Ability to work with urgency and sound judgment when documentation, customs, or dispatch issues threaten service performance. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners across operations, customer service, transport, and trade interfaces.
Ability to recognize downstream impacts of delays, missing documents, and service failures and take action before escalation increases. Ability to maintain accuracy, professionalism, and follow-through in compliance-sensitive and customer-facing work. Ability to adapt quickly to changing shipment conditions, operational priorities, and system-driven workflows.
