Vice President, Construction & Capital Projects 50–75% nationwide travel Approximately 12,000 units across 15 states Reports to Brand President Executive ownership of capital planning, construction operations, procurement, project execution, and team development THE OPPORTUNITY The Siegel Group is seeking a senior construction executive to build and lead our nationwide construction and capital projects organization. This is not a traditional construction management role.
The Vice
President, Construction & Capital Projects will oversee major renovation, redevelopment, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects across a geographically dispersed real estate portfolio while building the systems, teams, vendor relationships, and controls needed to support continued growth. This is a highly hands-on, field-oriented position. The successful candidate will spend significant time visiting properties and active projects, solving problems, holding contractors accountable, and ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to established quality standards.

Our portfolio includes approximately 12,000 multifamily apartment and extended-stay units across 15 states, along with hotel and commercial real estate assets. We invest significantly in renovations, infrastructure improvements, property repositioning, and capital projects designed to improve asset value and the resident experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead renovation, redevelopment, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects across the national portfolio.
- Develop annual capital plans, forecasts, budgets, and long-term construction strategies.
- Build scalable construction systems,
SOPs, project controls, reporting tools, and quality standards.
- Establish disciplined bidding, scope development, change-order management, and cost-control processes.
- Develop national contractor and vendor relationships and negotiate preferred pricing and purchasing agreements.
- Conduct regular site visits and maintain direct oversight of active projects.
- Recruit, develop, and lead regional construction leaders, project managers, owners' representatives, and support staff.
- Partner with Operations, Asset Management, Facilities, Finance, Purchasing, Legal, Risk Management, and Property Management.
- Drive accountability for project schedules, budgets, quality, safety, warranties, and closeout. ADECUADO CANDIDATE The ideal candidate is a hands-on, decisive, and highly accountable construction executive with significant experience overseeing renovation and capital improvement programs across geographically dispersed real estate portfolios. This leader should be financially disciplined, comfortable building systems from the ground up, and equally effective in an executive meeting and on an active jobsite.
Experience within multifamily housing, extended-stay hospitality, hotel ownership, REITs, or other multi-site real estate platforms is strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS - 15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience.
- Strong procurement, contractor management, bidding, and cost-control experience.
- Proven ability to build construction teams, systems, and processes.
- Strong financial, analytical, and project management capabilities.
- Knowledge of permitting, life safety, ADA requirements, and applicable building codes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel 50–75% nationwide.
