Role Description

This full-time remote role is for a Spanish to English Medical Interpreter who will provide accurate and confidential interpreting services between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare professionals. Day-to-day tasks include rendering spoken messages faithfully and neutrally, ensuring that medical information, instructions, and consent are communicated clearly and completely.



The interpreter will use medical terminology appropriately, ask for clarification when needed, and adhere to professional codes of ethics and confidentiality standards. The role also involves using the company’s proprietary systems to log assignments, manage schedules, and participate in web-based training.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Medical Interpretation and Interpreting skills, with the ability to work accurately and neutrally in clinical and administrative healthcare settings.
- Candidates should possess solid Medical Terminology knowledge, particularly in Spanish and English, to facilitate precise communication of diagnoses, treatments, and procedures.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Simultaneous Interpretation and consecutive interpreting techniques to handle various types of medical encounters effectively.
- Candidates should possess Translation skills for supporting written communication, such as patient instructions, forms, or short documents, when needed.
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and professional-level fluency in English, with excellent listening and speaking abilities.
- Strong ethical judgment, commitment to confidentiality (HIPAA awareness or equivalent), and respect for cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Comfort with remote work, including reliable internet access, basic computer literacy, and ability to learn proprietary cloud-based tools.
- Previous experience in medical interpreting or healthcare settings is preferred; relevant certifications or interpreter training are a plus, though free training is provided.
