Job Overview:

We’re looking for a motivated and curious Commercial Trainee to join our two-year development program with Volcafe Perú. This hands-on, learn-by-doing program is designed to immerse you in all key departments of our company, equipping you with a practical understanding of our operations and processes. Upon completion of the initial rotations, you’ll focus on Finance, gaining in-depth training and mentorship to prepare role within Volcafe Perú.

As a Commercial Trainee, you’ll experience the following:

Comprehensive Rotations: Experience hands-on learning across all areas of the coffee business and industry. Consisting of core and elective modules (rotations) including but not limited to; sourcing/purchasing, production operations, quality, trading, logistics, sustainability and finance. Trainees will work with their key programme sponsor and a diverse range of expert mentors across the business to build the knowledge, skills and acumen required to successfully complete each module to achieve final graduation.

After learning the broader business operations, you’ll dive deeper into finance, where you’ll work on tasks related to negotiating with clients, internal market analysis, hedging, managing differentials, strategic sourcing, and more. This program is focused on developing your expertise within Volcafe Perú. While the primary career focus is in Perú, there may be opportunities to explore roles within other companies in our group if they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in rotations across departments, contributing to daily operations and strategic projects.

Collaborate with department mentors and supervisors to understand key functions and best practices.

Participate in finance specific tasks, as well a operations processes procedure for certified coffee.

Demonstrate a willingness to travel as needed for different department rotations or project needs.

Develop a thorough understanding of finance practices to support career growth within Volcafe Perú.

Who You Are:

- BA in Business, Finance, Economics, Agronomy, Engineering (industrial or

mechanical) or International Trade from a leading educational institute
- 3 years of experience in similar roles.
- MS Office, Excel, Power BI (desirable)
- Analytical and research skills
- Business level English verbal and written
- Driver’s license (not essencial)
- Citizen or permanent resident of country
- Valid passport with no restrictions to travel (globally)
- Willing and able to relocate globally at short notice for weeks/months at a time
- Willing and able to support highly adaptable working hours (e.g. shift patterns, during harvest, special projects etc)
