What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an Investment & Technical Assistance Associate to join the ICAF team, with a role spanning investment analysis, investment readiness, technical assistance, and impact management.

Depending on the successful candidate's experience and strengths, responsibilities may place greater emphasis on investment analysis and pipeline development or on technical assistance design, implementation, and impact management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Investment team, entrepreneurs, consultants, and ecosystem partners to strengthen companies throughout the investment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Investment Analysis & Pipeline Development: Support the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities through financial, market, sector, ESG, climate, gender, and impact analysis, while contributing to pipeline development and investment documentation.
- Technical Assistance & Project Management: Assess the needs of prospective and portfolio companies and design and manage technical assistance and investment readiness projects, coordinating workplans, budgets, consultants, stakeholders, and deliverables.
- Impact & Stakeholder Engagement: Support impact measurement and reporting and work closely with portfolio companies, consultants, investors, donors, and ecosystem partners to advance the Fund’s investment and impact objectives.
- Travel: Travel throughout Latin America and the Caribbean approximately 12 weeks per year to support investment and technical assistance activities.

Requirements:

Academic background

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics,



Business Administration, International Development, or a related field.
- Master's degree or MBA is an asset.

Experience

- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas: impact investing, investment analysis, technical assistance, development or climate finance, consulting, or private-sector/SME development.
- Experience analyzing companies, business models, or investment opportunities , including the ability to understand historical financial statements, financial projections, market dynamics, and key business risks.
- Experience managing projects from planning through implementation , including workplans, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and coordination of multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working directly with companies, entrepreneurs, investors, consultants, or other external stakeholders , preferably in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Exposure to ESG, climate, gender, sustainability, or impact considerations in an investment, business, consulting, or development context.
- Strong research and analytical skills , with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, reports, presentations, and decision-making materials.
- Experience with investment funds, financial institutions, technical assistance facilities, SMEs, development organizations, or donor-funded programs is an asset.
- Experience using CRM or project management systems ; Salesforce experience is an asset.

Languages

- Professional fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

- Strong financial and business analysis skills, including the ability to assess company performance, financial projections, and investment readiness.
- Understanding of impact measurement and management , including the use of indicators to monitor and evaluate investment and project outcomes.
- Knowledge of climate finance, ESG, gender-lens investing, or sustainability frameworks is an asset.
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and written and verbal communication skills.
