These positions are located in the Brussels, Belgium Country Office and the Lima, Peru Country Office.
This position primary purpose is to provide financial and budgetary oversight, advice, and assistance to management and administrative staff both within the regional office and country offices assigned to the region.
Duties
- Assists all foreign offices within the region with financial management and funds control.
- Ensures timely payment of invoices as reported on Region's quarterly scorecards. Monitors payments and imprest funds replenishment to ensure actions are legal, proper, and correct.
- Serves as Regional Allowance Approving Official. Reviews a variety of financial transactions.
- Provides resource guidance and direction to Administrative Support Specialists assigned throughout the region regarding cost analysis and reporting.
- Prepares and submits monthly regional spending reports and financial analysis to management.
Collaborates with regional management and program managers on the preparation of a balanced budget and right-sizing proposals for the region.
- Conducts numerous and contracting, budgetary actions, and financial resources.
Assignment Information
Length of Tour: Employees are limited to a maximum of five years service in an overseas assignment. The initial tour of duty for this assignment is 3 (three) years. After the initial tour of duty has been completed, extensions may be granted in one-year increments up to the five-year maximum. Employees who wish to remain on an overseas assignment in excess of the five-year maximum must request a tour extension or renewal before the end of their current assignment. Employees who are approved to extend their overseas assignment beyond the five-year maximum will forfeit the right to return to an office of preference. They will be placed in an appropriate position at a DEA domestic office where a vacancy exists.
