Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, contributes to the growth and profitability of assigned specialty product line(s) and region assigned (Peru and Latam) through marketing, underwriting, and managing of products and services of moderate risks. Works within defined limits and authorities on assignments of moderate complexity. Some risks may require special handling or unusual coverage. Demonstrates functional technical knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques to include coverage issues, product lines, marketing, relevant systems, and competition in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

- Underwrite new and renewal casualty business within delegated authority and in accordance with underwriting guidelines and profitability objectives.
- Manage and develop a portfolio of brokers, clients, and strategic partners across Chile and Latin America.
- Analyze risk exposures, policy structures, loss experience, coverage requirements,



and pricing adequacy to make sound underwriting decisions.
- Drive profitable portfolio growth through proactive business development, broker meetings, client presentations, industry events, and market engagement.
- Develop expertise in key industry sectors including Mining, Energy, Construction, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Transportation, and Retail.
- Monitor portfolio performance, rate adequacy, accumulation exposures, loss trends, and emerging risks.
- Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Risk Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Reinsurance teams to support underwriting decisions and portfolio management.
- Participate in account strategy discussions with brokers and clients, negotiating pricing, terms, conditions, and coverage structures.
- Identify market opportunities and contribute to product development initiatives and underwriting strategy.
- Support underwriting governance, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements across the region.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters and underwriting support staff.
- Represent Liberty in the market and maintain strong trading relationships with local and international brokers.
- Stay informed regarding emerging liability trends, legal developments, social inflation, ESG-related exposures, environmental liabilities, and evolving market conditions.

Education, Training, and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Law, Insurance, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in Casualty underwriting, Brokering insurance, or reinsurance.
- Experience with Mining, Energy, Construction, or Large Corporate Risks is highly desirable.
- Intermediate English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience working with international brokers and multinational accounts is preferred.
