Company Description Cyber Jurisprudence International Initiative (CyJurII) is a pioneering platform dedicated to advancing legal thought and governance in the digital age. The initiative focuses on the intersection of law, cyberspace, and emerging technologies, including areas such as AI and law, cybercrime and case law, digital sovereignty, legal cybernetics, cross-border jurisdiction, and cyber rights and ethics. CyJurII brings together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to conduct research, foster dialogue, and encourage collaboration on complex issues of cyber governance.

Its mission is to build a dynamic and globally relevant body of legal knowledge that promotes justice, accountability, and innovation in digital environments. Participants contribute to publications, events, and research that shape the evolving jurisprudence of cyberspace.

Role Description The Scholar role at CyJurII is a remote, volunteer position focused on research and thought leadership in cyber jurisprudence. In this role, scholars conduct independent and collaborative research on topics such as AI and law, cybercrime, digital sovereignty, and cross-border legal frameworks, and produce well-structured papers, articles, briefs, and commentary. Day-to-day tasks may include literature reviews, case law analysis, drafting and revising manuscripts, participating in virtual discussions and working groups, and contributing to policy-oriented reports or position papers.





Scholars may assist in organizing or presenting at online events, seminars, and workshops, and help develop educational or outreach materials that support CyJurII’s mission. The role offers flexibility and is designed for individuals who wish to deepen their expertise in digital-era law while contributing to an international knowledge community.

Qualifications

- Strong legal research and analytical skills, including experience with case law, statutes, and international legal instruments.
- Demonstrated ability in academic or policy writing, with clear, structured, and evidence-based communication.
- Interest or experience in areas such as AI and law, cybercrime, digital rights, data protection, or cyber sovereignty.
- Familiarity with digital technologies, online platforms, and cyber governance issues, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively in diverse, international teams.
- Enrollment in or completion of a degree in law, international relations, public policy, computer science, or a related field is beneficial.
- Prior publication, conference participation, or involvement in legal or tech-focused research initiatives is an advantage.
- Commitment to ethical research practices, inclusivity, and non-discriminatory approaches in scholarship and collaboration.
