Role Description This full-time Research Economist role at Thorne & Associates is a hybrid position based in Lima, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Research Economist will conduct quantitative and qualitative economic research, build and maintain economic models, and analyze macroeconomic trends relevant to the firm’s projects and clients. Responsibilities include collecting and validating data from multiple sources, performing statistical analyses, and preparing clear reports, forecasts, and briefings for internal and external stakeholders. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support policy evaluations, market assessments, and strategic recommendations, as well as presenting findings in a clear, accessible manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Economics, with demonstrated experience in Economic Research.
Applied knowledge of Macroeconomics for analyzing national and integral economic trends.
Advanced Analytical Skills and proficiency in Statistics for data-driven research and modeling.
Experience working with statistical and econometric software (e.g., R, Stata, Python, or similar tools).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings clearly.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with colleagues in Lima and remotely.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Demonstrated attention to detail, critical thinking, and commitment to ethical, unbiased research practices.
