Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented English Text Transcription Specialist to transcribe and convert ancient English-language documents into modern digital formats. The successful candidate will accurately interpret and transcribe older English texts while preserving the original content and meaning. This role requires strong attention to detail, good reading comprehension, and the ability to work consistently with historical manuscripts, printed materials, and archival documents.
Key Responsibilities
Transcribe historical English texts into modern digital documents.
Accurately reproduce original spelling, punctuation, formatting,
and content according to project guidelines.
Review and proofread completed transcriptions to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Identify and flag illegible, damaged, or unclear text for further review.
Maintain organized records of completed work and transcription progress.
Follow established transcription standards and quality control procedures.
Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Required Qualifications
English language proficiency at B1–B2 level or higher.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong reading comprehension skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic proficiency with word processing software such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
Ability to maintain concentration during repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in transcription, data entry, proofreading, or document digitization.
