About the role In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and controllership functions for various legal entities within the Asia-Pacific region. Your expertise will be essential in managing regional financial reporting, ensuring robust internal controls, and engaging in strategic financial planning. As a key business partner to the leadership team, you will play a crucial role in driving financial performance and operational efficiency across the organization.
Key facts Location: Asia Engagement: Full-time What you'll do - Oversee the comprehensive finance operations, ensuring timely month-end and year-end closing processes across diverse jurisdictions within the APAC region.
- Manage bank reconciliations, asset tracking, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations, while also supervising accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial records by validating accounting entries, accruals, and payment requests, thereby maintaining the integrity of financial reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to coordinate statutory, tax, and regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Lead the external audit process, acting as the primary liaison for auditors and tax consultants to facilitate smooth and efficient audits.
- Direct the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts for the APAC vertical, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Develop and implement financial models and scenario analyses that provide insights to support key business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to improve the efficiency of financial reporting and operations.
- Mentor and guide a regional team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Requirements - A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in controllership, financial accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A;), or audit is essential.
- A proven history of working within a multinational, publicly listed company, particularly in fintech or high-growth technology sectors.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and general ledger operations is necessary.
- Experience in managing financial operations across multiple jurisdictions within the APAC region is a must.
- Proficiency with enterprise-level ERP systems and consolidation tools is required for effective financial management.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, is essential for communication and reporting purposes. Nice to have - Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA, or an advanced degree like an MBA or Master's in a relevant field would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Mandarin would be beneficial for facilitating cross-regional collaboration and communication.
- A background in digital assets, blockchain technology, or the Web3 space would be a plus, given the nature of Binance's operations.
Skills & tools - Expertise in financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems and financial planning software to streamline financial operations.
- Knowledge of statutory and regulatory reporting frameworks to ensure compliance and accuracy.
