Purpose :

The Manager, Issuing and Payments contributes to increase the performance and profitability of the issuing portfolio and the overall success of the Payments Issuing and Payment Networks Area within Retail Payments Department in (country) ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What do we expect of you?:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.

At least 5 years of experience in Payments, Strategic Planning, Finance, Product Management, or within the banking and financial sector with strong understanding of products, P/L drivers, benefits, pricing and the payments ecosystem

Knowledge required:

Experience or knowledge in financial services, banking, or the financial sector.

SQL (Querys - Intermediate)

Demonstrated multitasking abilities in a team-based environment.

Excellent analytical, presentation and writing skills.

Experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Power Point),

Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks are essential

Accountabilities :

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Supports the Sr.



Manager-Payments Issuing and Payment Networks with the ideation and implementation of local focused on increasing the payments portfolio performance and profitability. He or she also supports the Sr. Manager-Payments Issuing and Payment Networks with the sizing, tropicalization and implementation of regional strategies and initiatives towards the same optimization goal.

Some of the strategies include, but are not limited to, pricing, MCC profitability improvement, credit limit optimization, upgrades/cross-sell, penalties fees reductions, expenses optimization, etc.

Works in collaboration with the regional Payments Portfolio Optimization team, local Fraud and Operations, in the implementation of regional and local strategies, tools and rules to improve Retail Payments authorization rates to maximize payment volumes while keeping the bank safe.

Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Integral Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
