The Technical Product Owner

Tech PO is responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the development team. The role involves close collaboration with the Product Manager, business owners and development teams to translate high‑level product vision and strategy into actionable technical user stories and tasks. The Tech PO ensures that the team understands the product requirements and works to deliver high‑quality increments that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Backlog Management
- Own and manage user stories within the product backlog, ensuring it is up to date, prioritized, and aligned with the roadmap.
- Write clear, concise technical user stories with acceptance criteria, definition of ready, and definition of done.
- Continuously refine backlog with architects, tech leads, developers and QA testers.
- Estimate stories based on story points to define capacity per iteration.

- Technical Guidance & Leadership

- Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineering teams, ensuring solutions align with product requirements and business goals.
- Collaborate with technology solutions architects and integration engineers to design and implement feasible solutions.
- Review technical designs and product increments to ensure they meet quality standards, safety, and documentation requirements.
- Lead hands‑on management of technical user stories covering development, code review, testing, security operations, UAT, release and deployment.

- Agile Practices

- Work under scrum, kanban, or safe frameworks; manage planning, reviews, refinements and grooming.
- Participate in sprint planning,



ensuring clear understanding of requirements and priorities.
- Provide timely feedback during sprints and facilitate continuous improvement activities.

- Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with the Product Manager to understand vision, priorities and strategy.
- Engage with engineering teams, architects and other stakeholders to gather technical requirements and validate stories.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and the development team to ensure alignment.

- Product Delivery & Quality

- Collaborate with the development team to deliver high‑quality product increments that meet defined requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and demos; ensure features meet acceptance criteria and are ready for release.

- Continuous Improvement

- Monitor product and agile performance using metrics and KPIs; make data‑driven decisions to improve product.
- Participate in retrospectives and other improvement activities to enhance team performance.
- Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies.

- Documentation & Communication

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for user stories, features, and product requirements.
- Communicate progress, risks and issues to the Product Manager and stakeholders.

Qualifications





- Experience working on highly technical products, requiring frequent technical enablers to drive business features.
- Technical background: deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
- Strong understanding of non‑functional versus functional requirements.
- Experience managing definitions and priorities under high uncertainty environments.
- Proficiency in agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban or SAFe.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
