$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Hamlyn Williams is partnered with a well-funded biotech startup emerging from the rich scientific culture nurtured at a reputable scientific institution. Situated in Thousand Oaks, the company is pioneering drug delivery technology for CNS. The successful research associate will be assessing drug candidates in in vivo models of the disease towards the clinic.

The position is available for immediate start.

Job Duties:

● Execute in vivo studies in animal models.

● Handle and prepare blood and tissue samples for biochemical and histological assay.

● Collaborate with team members to drive in vivo study cross animal models.

● Participate in various lab duties, including equipment maintenance and document generation, and assist in data analysis as necessary.

● Adapt to the varying needs of the lab, showcasing flexibility and a willingness to assist in different capacities as needed.

● Data presentation to multidisciplinary discovery teams.

Qualifications

● Bachelor or Master degree in a life science disciplinary.

● Knowledge of basic biology of CNS diseases.

● Hands-on experience with rodent model or other mammalian animal model.

● Ability to process and handle tissue samples with precision and care.

● Familiarity with standard lab equipment and biochemical/histological analysis methods.

● Strong communication skills with an ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

● Prior experience in plate-based assay including ELISA and RT-QPCR is a plus.

● Prior experience with biologics (antibody, oligonucleotide and peptide)



in vivo delivery characterization is a plus.

● Research or industry experience with animal handling (behavior experiment, perfusion) and tissue processing (sectioning, imaging).

● A willingness to commit to the role for at least two years, fostering consistency and growth within the team.
