Overview We are seeking one part-time STEAM Educator to teach hands-on STEAM lessons to TK-5th grade students at schools in Canoga Park. This role is idóneo for credentialed teachers who love innovation, and hands-on learning and are looking for a part-time schedule.
Dates: First Week of September - June 2026 Times: Monday and Wednesday 8-12:30 and Thursday 10-12:30 Location: Canoga Park, CA 91303 (candidates should live within a reasonable driving distance of the school). What You’ll Do - Teach NGSS-Aligned STEAM Lessons: Lead engaging, hands-on projects for TK-5th grade students across multiple classes using our curriculum. Grades TK-5 will be taught and curriculum will be provided. Lessons will be 50 minutes.
- Manage Classroom Behavior: Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment with effective management strategies.
- Prepare and Clean Up: Set up classrooms, organize materials, and clean up after each session using materials provided by Splatter Learning.
- Communicate Professionally: Build strong relationships with classroom teachers, students, and parents while representing Splatter Learning LLC in a positive way.
- Report Issues: Notify Splatter Learning promptly of any problems with materials, equipment, or classroom conditions. What We’re Looking For - Required Qualifications: Current and active California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential;
experience teaching elementary-aged students (TK-5th grade); strong classroom management skills; tech-savvy and willing to learn new tools and devices.
- Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with STEAM tools (e.g., Ozobots, Bee-Bots, Makey Makeys or similar); previous experience teaching STEAM or working in a makerspace; knowledge of NGSS standards.
Compensation and Benefits - Pay Rate: $60/hour for teaching time with students. Driving and prep/cleaning time are factored into this rate.
- Bonus: Upon completion of the assignment and after surveys reflecting strong teaching ability, a 25% bonus will be paid, bringing final pay to $75/hour.
