CORE Safety Group is a nationwide safety management and loss control consulting firm. We are currently looking to add a Corporate Safety Manager to our LA team .
The Safety Manager is primarily responsible for an assigned regional area and may oversee corporate safety programs. This position provides management, coordination, and technical expertise in all areas of safety, health, and environmental compliance. It assists in developing and administering safety policies, procedures, initiatives, and training programs to ensure consistent safety practices. The Safety Manager will help establish effective methods for improving safety performance and creating a safe, healthy work environment, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a gap analysis of the client’s safety program to identify specific needs.
- Collaborate with clients to develop processes and procedures aimed at achieving zero accidents.
- Inspect projects regularly to identify and mitigate potential hazards on construction and general industry projects.
- Develop and conduct training programs on policies and procedures.
- Investigate all accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Write project-specific safety plans and job hazard analyses as required.
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of accident reports and investigations.
- Promote safety as a core value, maintaining good corporate ethics and advocating for safety at every opportunity.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety management, construction management, or related field, or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) certification.
- Minimum of 5 years safety experience.
- OSHA 500 certification.
- Knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards CFR 1926, General Industry Standards CFR 1910, and best management practices.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Understanding of typical construction processes.
- Proficiency with technology, including SharePoint, MS Office, Excel, and Power BI.
- Technical writing skills for developing policies and procedures.
- Bilingual ability (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Local to Los Angeles or willing to relocate permanently.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, using hands and arms, reaching, talking, hearing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include near and distant vision.
