Summary
We're looking for a Senior Database Administrator (PostgreSQL) to join a fast-paced fintech company on a short-term contract. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity, performance, and reliability of production databases that power critical financial operations, user accounts, and compliance processes. You'll work closely with Engineering, Operations, Customer Support, and Compliance teams to resolve data issues, manage PostgreSQL environments, and support business-critical workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented DBA who enjoys solving complex operational challenges in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to production data requests involving user balances, deposits, withdrawals, and other business-critical metrics.
- Perform PostgreSQL database administration tasks, including schema updates, data modifications, and ongoing database maintenance.
- Support database backup, recovery, server management, and overall database health.
- Investigate and resolve production data discrepancies and operational issues.
- Handle GDPR-related requests, including account deactivation and data visibility updates.
- Support customer-facing operations by resolving account-related data issues and maintaining data accuracy.
- Generate reports related to KYC status, user balances, and other operational metrics.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Customer Support, and Engineering teams to ensure reliable and accurate data across production systems.
Core Requirements
- Advanced proficiency with PostgreSQL and SQL.
- Experience using PostgreSQL administration tools such as pgAdmin.
- Strong understanding of database schema design, maintenance, server administration, and backup/recovery processes.
