Job Summary
Responsible for coordination of project plans, contractual arrangements, schedules, activities, and milestones in accordance with established Worley policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders and bridges the technical gap between the Project Manager and engineers. Often functions as an assistant project manager with an engineering background, ensuring engineering work is done according to plan and reviewing bill of materials, project schedules, and forecasts for accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Ensures Worley methodologies, processes, tools, and systems are used throughout the project and compliance requirements are met.
- Applies knowledge of all aspects of a project (engineering, procurement, quality control, etc.) to oversee the successful execution of the project plan.
- Ensures the design team is aware of and complies with customer Basis of Design and applicable codes and regulations.
- Demonstrates attention to detail.
- Hands‑on understanding of EPC project delivery workflow and coordination.
- Has basic exposure and understanding of procurement/subcontracting and on‑site construction support.
- Translates contract requirements for project scope into Worley scope of services and deliverables.
- Ensures project schedules and resource plans are developed and utilized in managing project tasks.
- Manages execution, coordination, and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress.
- Develops action plans to address project tasks and issues.
- Has good understanding of Project Control Reports and identifies problem areas.
- Experienced in successful multi‑office workshare execution.
- Promotes Value Creation and Sustainable Solutions objectives for the project.
- Identifies and understands the customer’s key drivers (KPIs).
- Manages customer representatives (established relationship) and other significant stakeholders.
- Manages and nurtures customer and stakeholder relationships based on established expectations and communication protocols.
- Nurtures relationships with external vendors and suppliers, communicating key project drivers.
- Develops a relationship of trust and respect, enabling transparent discussion of project progress, challenges, and issues.
- Identifies potential risks or new risks as the project progresses and develops risk mitigation, contingency, and resolution plans.
- Maintains a detailed project risk register that stays current and is tracked and communicated on a regular basis (at least monthly).
- Utilizes Risk Register items as the basis for any project contingency budget.
Qualifications
- University degree with professional registration in local jurisdiction.
- Typically 15+ years of engineering experience, including 10 years of relevant supervisory, project management and/or technical experience; workshare experience; E, EP project experience.
- Experience with EPCM, EPC including site assignments; multi‑cultural/multi‑national environments.
- Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint; able to organize information from many sources and retain it per prescribed format and policies.
- Competent in Microsoft Access and Visio.
- Certified Project Management Professional by a globally recognized project management organization (IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM) is a plus.
