Descripción de la vacante
Postdoc in Developmental NeurobiologyWe are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc to join the Barrett group from 15 September 2026 or thereafter.
Project DescriptionOur group studies human brain development and disease using iPSC‑derived models. This project aims to elucidate mechanisms of transcriptional variation in neural systems. We will generate human neural cell types from iPSCs, perform single‑cell RNA sequencing, CRISPR screening, and downstream cellular analyses to identify and manipulate transcript‑level variability.
The role requires both wet‑lab and dry‑lab work, including experimental execution, data analysis, publication preparation, and presentation of findings at seminars and conferences.
Responsibilities
Generate human neural cell types from iPSCs.
Perform single‑cell RNA sequencing and related analyses.
Conduct CRISPR screening experiments.
Analyze and interpret large datasets.
Prepare data for publication and present findings at seminars and conferences.
Qualifications
PhD in biological, computational, or related sciences.
Background in gene regulation mechanisms, neurobiology, or stem cell biology.
Experience with mammalian stem cell culture and basic cell/molecular biology techniques (cloning, flow cytometry, western blotting).
Experience generating and analysing next‑generation sequencing data.
Proficiency in programming languages Python and R.
Experience with CRISPR‑Cas9 or related screening strategies.
Proficiency in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
