Position Summary
The Commercial Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational development of the company’s commercial business, ensuring market access, revenue growth, and sustainable positioning of biosimilar products across public and private channels.
This role acts as a key link between local affiliates and cross‑functional teams (Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, Marketing, Supply Chain), ensuring aligned execution of commercial strategies.
Main Responsibilities
1. Commercial Strategy & Business Development
- Define and execute local commercial strategy aligned with headquarters.
- Set annual sales targets, KPIs, and growth plans.
- Identify and prioritize high‑value opportunities by product, indication, and institution.
- Lead portfolio strategy and lifecycle management for biosimilars.
- Lead the entire tender lifecycle, including:
- Opportunity identification (public tenders, institutional bids)
- Go/No‑Go decision‑making based on profitability and strategic fit
- Pricing strategy
- Coordinate cross‑functional inputs (Medical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance).
- Ensure compliance with tender requirements and timelines.
- Oversee post‑award contract management and execution.
- Manage relationships with Hospitals and institutional customers
- Develop access strategies for biosimilars, including: Inclusion in formularies and reimbursement systems. Negotiations with payers and institutions
- Define pricing strategies aligned with tender dynamics and competitive landscape.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts (short and long term), profitability analysis (revenue, margins, etc)
- Oversee sales team performance and execution: Field visits, coaching, KPI tracking
- Ensure high‑quality marketing execution and alignment with strategy
- Drive: Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) and launch strategies for new biosimilars
- Coordinate closely with Medical Affairs and Marketing.
- Collect and analyze market trends,
Competitor activity and Pricing benchmarks
- Provide insights to Country Manager to adjust strategy and tactics.
6. Stakeholder & KOL Management
- Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
- Drive scientific‑commercial alignment for biosimilars adoption.
- Lead scientific events and promotions with the marketing / medical areas, suggesting speakers and themes, aiming to contribute to the scientific updating of stakeholders, to broaden the understanding of products, pathology and access to treatment.
- Lead, coach and develop commercial team.
- Ensure performance management, training, and capability building.
- Idealize, propose, promote and plan scientific events and promotions with the marketing / medical areas, suggesting speakers and themes, aiming to contribute to the scientific updating of stakeholders, to broaden the understanding of products, pathology and access to treatment.
KEY SKILLS
- Strong tender and negotiation expertise
- Deep understanding of Peruvian public healthcare systems (Essalud, Cenares, Minsa, etc.)
- Financial and pricing strategy capabilities
- Cross‑functional leadership
- High analytical and strategic thinking
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 years of experience in sales & marketing in a Pharmaceutical Company. Experience in Pharmaceutical industry exclusionary requirement.
- Experience in biological products preferred.
- Experience in oncological, gastroenterology, immunology preferred
- Experience working with public health institutions and tenders/bids
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Administration, Biology or related
