Overview

The Director of National Programs leads the Native English Program for the Maximo Nivel institute in Cusco, Peru. The National Director is responsible for sales, marketing, client service, class scheduling, diagnostic testing, and matriculation.

Responsibilities

- Manage a team of 3-5 (shared) office staff and oversee the front office ("the store"), including daily opening/closing, cash handling, and selling English classes.
- Generate excitement within the National Programs Team and with the client base by delivering excellent client service and meeting monthly matriculation goals.
- Work directly with individuals to matriculate into Maximo’s Native English Program and with corporate clients to sell group programs to hotels, banks, restaurants, tour operators, and other businesses.
- Collaborate with the Academic Director to provide great client service, schedule classes, and maximize monthly matriculations; as a member of the Executive Team, work with the Country Manager and the Director of International Programs.
- Generate regular reports using Microsoft Word and Excel (e.g., Daily cash box receipts, Matriculation per class (FU Report), Monthly Class Schedule, monthly book inventory).
- Set and enforce policies including Matriculation After Exam, Use of ORIGINAL textbooks, “greeting hours,” and pulling non-paying clients out of classes.
- Perform other duties as needed to support sales, operations, and client service.





Schedule

Targeted, regular work hours are Monday–Friday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch, and every other Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. During the last 2 days of the month and the first 3 days of the month, work hours are Monday–Friday 6:45 AM to 9:15 PM. The Director should be versátil and prepared to work as needed based on business demands.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
- TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA Certification preferred
- Fluent English; Advanced Spanish required
- 3–5 years professional experience, ideally in a sales or client service environment
- Outstanding administrative and organizational skills; exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Strong team skills and a “love” for team training; ability to lead and manage a cross-cultural team; excellent interpersonal and writing skills
- Focus on results—increasing matriculations and delivering great client service; ability to set goals and manage competing priorities; be the owner of the National Programs area
- Data-driven; ability to understand, analyze, and present data to support business decisions
