Associate Attorney – Employment Litigation

Full-Time

Compensation: $140,000 – $155,000 annually (DOE)

Description:

Are you a passionate litigator ready to make a real impact? Shegerian & Associates, Inc., a premier plaintiff-side employment law firm, is seeking a dynamic Associate Attorney to join our Los Angeles offices. Our firm is known statewide for its aggressive advocacy on behalf of employees in cases involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and other workplace violations.

Led by acclaimed trial attorney Carney Shegerian, we offer attorneys the opportunity to engage deeply in meaningful, high-stakes litigation—early and often. This is not a document-review role. This is your chance to litigate.

- Competitive Base Salary: $140,000–$155,000 annually, commensurate with experience
- Performance-Based Commission: Earn up to 5.50% commission

- Ongoing Legal Workshops: Regular in-house workshops to strengthen litigation skills
- Hands-On Mentorship: One-on-one guidance and case strategy support from seasoned trial lawyers
- Bar dues paid by the Firm

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage your own docket of employment law cases from inception through trial
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial briefs
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear in court to argue motions and advocate for clients
- Engage with clients and help shape case strategy
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations
- Assist in trial preparation and serve as second chair where applicable

Qualifications:

- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
- 1–5 years of litigation experience (employment law preferred)
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines
- Desire to grow as a trial lawyer and litigator
- Trial or trial-prep experience is a plus
