Position Summary The QA Manager owns the company’s end-to-end Quality Assurance systems across integral sourcing, importation, and distribution. This role ensures compliance with FDA, USDA Organic (NOP), FSVP, and international standards, while maintaining strong systems for testing, traceability, and supplier verification. This is a hands‑on role responsible for both execution and continuous improvement of QA infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities - Own and execute the full FSVP program as Qualified Individual (QI) - Approve and maintain global suppliers through:

- Food safety certifications (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP) - Audit review and compliance checks - FDA import alert and risk screening - Perform ongoing supplier evaluations and annual re-verification (Structured, multi-step supplier approval process and recurring verification) - Oversee all testing programs:
- Microbiology (per shipment) - Heavy metals, pesticides, radiation (periodic) - Review and validate COAs for every lot - Set testing requirements aligned with regulatory and customer standards 3. Traceability & Lot Control - Maintain full traceability across:




- Shipments and customers - Ensure all product can be traced quickly and accurately (Lot + expiry system used to identify exact production) 4. Organic & Regulatory Compliance - Own compliance with:
- USDA Organic (NOP + SOE) - FDA FSMA / FSVP - Manage organic documentation, transaction records, and supplier certifications - Ensure all labeling and claims remain compliant 5. QA Documentation & Systems - Maintain all QA documentation:
- Ensure audit‑ready records at all times - Build and improve QA systems, SOPs, and risk controls - Transition processes toward scalable, structured systems 6.

Oversight in Operations - Support product release decisions based on QA clearance - Ensure packaging, storage, and handling meet food safety standards - Work cross‑functionally with ops, procurement, and sales to maintain compliance without slowing execution Qualifications Required - 5–10+ years in QA / Food Safety (food, beverage, or commodities) - Strong expertise in:

- FDA FSMA & FSVP - USDA Organic (NOP) - HACCP / GMP / GFSI systems - Experience with:
- Lab testing (micro, heavy metals, pesticides) - COAs and technical documentation Preferred - PCQI certification - Experience with tea, botanicals, or agricultural imports - Familiarity with EU / UK / Canada regulations - Highly detail-oriented and systems-driven - Strong ownership and decision‑making under uncertainty - Able to balance compliance with operational speed Success Metrics - Fully compliant, audit-ready QA systems - Reliable supplier approval and monitoring - Accurate, timely QA release of inventory
