We are looking for a candidate to join our team to advance long‑term electricity market projection studies and related forecasting activities.

Responsibilities - Define and prepare assumptions (demand, hydrology, maintenance, fuel prices, etc.) required for long‑term (Y+4) electricity market projection studies, and update the model database with information to run Base Cases and required Sensitivities.

- Run simulations using the SDDP optimization model to project marginal costs and production for thermal and hydro units in SEIN; analyze and validate results to ensure accurate projections of Contribution Margin and risk assessments.
- Coordinate and participate in the annual LPF study (beyond Y+4), developed with the CSA team in Oslo, for long‑term forecasting.
- Supervise and coordinate development of assumptions and run simulations in the SDDP model for medium‑term price forecasting (Y+2).
- Supervise and coordinate evaluation reports for medium and long‑term price forecasts to identify opportunities to improve model performance.
- Supervise and coordinate the backtesting process of the SDDP model to propose improvements to market representation and achieve more robust results.
- Implement and ensure compliance with the document “Guiding Principles for Market Analysis” in accordance with corporate (MGX) requirements.
- Explore and adapt visualization tools developed by the corporate team.
- Develop automation tools using VBA,



Python, Power BI, and/or databases to streamline market modeling processes, calculations involving large data volumes, and the preparation of reports on production results, marginal costs, contribution margin projections, and dispatch management, reducing execution time.
- Prepare bimonthly price and market trend reports (Market Update) and provide periodic information to management for Market Board meetings.
- Perform revenue projections for potential projects under evaluation, including M&A; and/or Greenfield opportunities.
- Regularly review and assess the area’s processes with Headquarters (Oslo) and competence centers (hydrology and analysis) to identify and exchange best practices and improvement opportunities for proper execution.

Qualifications Level of education

- Higher education, bachelor's degree and/or university diploma Specialization:
- Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management Experience:
- 5 years in a similar position in commercial areas of power generation companies using hydro-thermal dispatch models (NCP, SDDP, others) Other knowledge:
- Good knowledge of energy market regulation
- Optimization of power systems
- Advanced English level
- Specialized software to forecast energy prices
