Role Summary The SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting maintenance management processes using SAP PM to improve asset reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs. The role focuses on maintenance strategy definition, preventive and predictive maintenance planning, and integration with operations, materials, and finance. SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Responsibilities

- Configure and support equipment, functional locations, and maintenance BOMs.
- Manage task lists, notifications, and maintenance orders.
- Support complete maintenance order lifecycle and confirmations.

Strategy & Preventive Maintenance

- Design time-based, performance-based, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
- Configure maintenance plans, cycles, and scheduling parameters.
- Support shutdown and turnaround maintenance planning.

- Enable weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance planning.
- Support capacity planning, work centers, and resource leveling.
- Align maintenance planning with production and safety constraints.

Asset

Reliability & Performance Management

n

- Support breakdown analysis and failure reporting.
- Enable MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance KPI reporting.




- Drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

Spare

n

Parts & Inventory Integration

n

- Integrate SAP PM with SAP MM for spare parts planning and consumption.
- Support reservations, procurement, and inventory optimization.
- Ensure material availability for planned maintenance. Cross-Module Integration
- Integrate SAP PM with MM, PP, and FI/CO modules.
- Support maintenance cost tracking, settlement, and budgeting.
- Ensure accurate financial posting of maintenance activities. AMS, Support & Governance
- Provide L2/L3 support for SAP PM incidents and process issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent fixes.
- Support testing, transports, and deployments. Documentation, Training & UAT
- Prepare functional design and configuration documents.
- Support UAT, cutover, and hypercare phases.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to business users.

Required Skills & Experience

n

- 5–10+ years of SAP PM experience.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies and planning.
- Experience in asset-intensive industries.

n

Education & Certification

n

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT.
- SAP PM certification preferred. Key Deliverables / KPIs
- Improved preventive maintenance compliance.
- Reduced equipment downtime.
- Optimized maintenance backlog and cost tracking.
