We are seeking a Data Scientist with experience in Machine Learning and Reinforcement Learning, focused on solving complex optimization problems in mining and industrial operations. This role requires the ability to apply advanced simulation and optimization techniques to generate a tangible impact on production processes.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree or degree in Computer Science Engineering or related fields.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in projects related to Machine Learning, simulation or advanced analytics.
- Solid knowledge of programming, algorithms, and data structures.
- With a background in mathematics. (desirable)
- Proven expertise in reinforcement learning.
- Ability to translate business problems into reproducible models and experiments.
- Intermediate or advanced level of English.
- Genuine interest in continuous learning and experimentation in real-world environments.

Key Technical Skills

n
- Languages: Python (required), SQL.
- Machine Learning: Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch, XGBoost/LightGBM.
- Reinforcement Learning:



OpenAI Gym, RLlib or similar environments.
- Simulation: principles of discrete event simulation, Markov chains, process modeling.
- Optimization: linear and non-linear programming, heuristics (experience with PuLP, OR-Tools or Pyomo is desirable).
- Data Engineering: Pandas, NumPy; use of Airflow or Prefect (desirable).
- Visualization: Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly/Dash.
- Version control: Git (GitHub/GitLab).
- Basic MLOps: MLflow or DVC for experiment tracking.
- English: intermediate level (technical reading and professional communication).

Responsibilities

- Design and train supervised and unsupervised machine learning models for prediction and classification.
- Develop and test reinforcement learning algorithms and multi-agent systems, applied to planning and optimization problems.
- Implement discrete event simulations to model dynamic processes and evaluate decision scenarios.
- Apply Markov chains and probabilistic methods to model stochastic behaviors.
- Design and execute mathematical optimization techniques (linear programming, heuristics or metaheuristics) to improve system performance.
- Build reproducible ETL and feature engineering pipelines to prepare training data.
- Integrate models and simulations into production environments together with the engineering team.
- Monitor, document, and communicate experiment results and improvement proposals.
