We are looking for an experienced Network Field Engineer to support an onsite network infrastructure refresh project involving switches and wireless access points.
The engineer will provide hands-and-feet support for the following activities:
- Unmount existing (old) switches and access points
- Rack and stack new switches without disturbing existing infrastructure
- Mount new access points and remove old APs
- Perform complete decommissioning of old devices and pack them appropriately
2. Cabling & Patch Management
- Migrate all network cables from old switches to new switches
- Perform patch panel management and cable organization
- Ensure proper cable routing, dressing, and labeling
- Provide console access to Network SME for remote configuration
- Assist in connecting 2–3 APs initially for staging and configuration
- Support full deployment of all new APs
4. Testing & Validation
- Assist in user acceptance testing
- Validate AP functionality by connecting devices to the new Wi‑Fi network
- Perform failover testing to ensure network stability
5. Post-Deployment
- Label all newly installed switches and access points
- Conduct a Wi‑Fi site survey to validate coverage and performance
Tools & Equipment (Mandatory)
- Laptop with charger
- Mobile phone with active internet connection
- Drilling machine with screws
- Cage nuts
- Basic hand tools
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Wi‑Fi survey tools/software (Ekahau, NetSpot, etc.)
- Additional patch cables and connectors
- PPE as per site requirements
Required Skills
- Experience in network deployment (Switches & Wireless APs)
- Strong understanding of rack & stack and structured cabling
- Familiarity with remote configuration support (console access)
- Experience with Wi‑Fi testing and validation
