Role Overview

This temporary Aircrew Life Support Equipment Assistant (ALSE Assistant) position is located in the Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program headquartered in Rockledge, FL. The assistant is responsible for inspection, maintenance, and accountability of all life support and survival equipment to ensure flight helmets, survival vests, and emergency systems are fully mission-capable and compliant with aviation regulations for the safety of aircrews and passengers.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct periodic, pre‑flight, and post‑flight inspections of ALSE gear, including flight helmets, oxygen masks, and communication headsets.
Perform scheduled maintenance on survival equipment, such as first aid kits.
Track and monitor expiration dates for pyrotechnics, flares, fire extinguishers, ELT batteries, and medical supplies.
Assist aircrews with professional fitting, adjustment, and customization of survival vests and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection forms, and historical records in accordance with aviation authority standards, SOPs, and the AWIS program.
Maintain the ALSE shop according to INLA high standards of cleanliness and safety,



ensuring sensitive materials are stored in climate‑controlled environments when required.

Qualifications

Technical degree in Aviation Maintenance desired, or High School Diploma with specialized military ALSE training, or INLA training equivalent.
1–2 years of experience in aviation maintenance or life support equipment handling.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and Illustrated Parts Catalogs.
Knowledge of aviation safety regulations and survival equipment standards.
Basic sewing and textile repair skills for harnesses and flight gear.
Basic technical English; reading technical manuals.
Precision in identifying minor defects that could impact flight safety.
High ethical standards regarding equipment airworthiness.
Strong organizational skills for managing complex maintenance schedules.
Legally authorized to work in Peru and residing locally (Local National position).
