Job Title: IT Support Manager (Retail Technology)

Summary:

Akkodis is seeking an IT Support Manager (Retail Technology) for a DIRECT HIRE position based in Honolulu, HI. The desired candidate will have 8+ years of IT Support experience experience, with + being in leadership. Some experience with retail technology like POS systems is also required. The IT Manager to lead the technology infrastructure, support mission-critical business applications, and manage a team of three IT Specialists. This is a hands-on leadership role that includes oversight of a dedicated test lab environment and support for a suite of technology solutions tailored to retail industry. This is an exciting role with an industry leader!!!

***onsite 5 days/week***

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and maintain IT systems including Point of Sale (POS), networking, and cloud-based platforms.
- Ensure smooth operation and troubleshooting of POS systems across all retail locations.
- Lead and mentor a team of three IT Specialists, fostering growth and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and escalation support for IT helpdesk operations to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Manage internal business relationships and prioritize solution delivery based on operational needs.




- Oversee vendor partnerships and collaborate with Procurement to negotiate technology solutions.
- Maintain and modernize POS test lab equipment; stay ahead of emerging technologies and standards.
- Develop procedures and manage beta testing for new software and hardware solutions.
- Administer day-to-day operations of the Retail Communications Network; serve as liaison with network providers.
- Develop and manage annual IT budgets for capital expenditures and operating expenses.
- Stay informed on technology trends and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Lead IT initiatives including system upgrades, software deployments, cybersecurity improvements, and infrastructure projects.
- Maintain detailed IT documentation and provide staff training on best practices and new systems.

Required Skills:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management, or a related field preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant IT experience.
- 5 years working with retail POS systems in service, support, development, or project management.
- Experience with retail credit/debit card processing and quality testing.




- Working with fuel dispensing systems and their interfaces preferred.
- Willing to be hands-on and support customers directly along with the team.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven problem-solver with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to create and manage project and budget plans.
- Working knowledge of networking, data security, PCI compliance, and PA-DSS standards.
